She's Bringing WHAT back?!

Apparently, we have a lot to learn about the art of the dance from Penelope.

Wigwam Wisdom

Welcome to Wigwam Wisdom, the part of the blog where we share our realizations about reality.

Today's Trusty Truth:

When things get awkward, you lose control.

Wigwam Woman #4

Let's do an imagination exercise::

You've just arrived at a new school. You don't really know anyone, but are excited to make  new friends. So, you join some clubs and go the the meetings, but you don't really seem to click with the people there. Then one night, you try another student group. Immediately after this meeting, a friendly face comes up to you, welcomes you because you're new, and makes you feel like you belong. You feel warmly welcomed and are drawn in by this person.

This phenomenon is known as the Kelly effect.

Kelly is our fourth Wigwam woman (though that order in no way represents her place in the Wigwam). And we here at the Wigwam are so proud to have a housemate who is so marked by hospitality. Seriously, though, how many people come to mind when you think of the word "welcoming"? This woman is truly a rare find-just like the Pink Panther Diamond!

Speaking of pink, can you guess what Kelly's favorite color is? If you thought Elle Woods from Legally Blonde loved pink, you don't even know what pink love is! Kelly is as devoted to this hue as Kristin is to bagels. We'll always remember Wigwam move-in day when innumerable pink items began to slowly accumulate in the house. There was a short time during which the housemates pondered about the source of the strange pink and salmon apparitions yet soon realized the singular source of them all-their beloved Kelly.

However, Kelly is not only appreciated because of her pink love-she also has blonde hair. Blonde haired persons have a well established reputation of being well-liked and highly regarded for their overall superiority in every way (the brunettes in the house resent this statement, but must admit its partial truth). This may explain Kelly's successes in all she puts her hand to: whether it's teaching, friendships, or throwing great parties, Kelly always does what she does to the best!

Kempt (Kelly is a very organized lady-something we love about her!)
                               Empathetic
                               Loving
                               Lovely!
                              Yielding (always helping others!)

We LOVE you, Kelly!!! Thanks for being an incredible friend!

Love,
The Wigwam

Birthday Spirit Interlude

The Wigwam is stoked to celebrate the birthday of a very much beloved Wigwam Woman this week!
While we we're no Siman and Garfunkle or even a Dean and Jerry, we do like to goof off to music. And somehow, we think Ellen would be proud.

It's Laura's Birthday!

Hi, Wigwam readers! I’m taking a break from our normal posting to introduce you to one of my favorite people in the world: my little sister, Laura. We called her the “sunshine girl” when she was little because she always lit up the room with her smile and her positive energy. I still get that cheerful feeling when I spend time with her. Today is her 17th Birthday! Since I can’t go home tonight, I figured I’d write about her instead.

If you've seen Laura more than once, you know that a bag of salt and vinegar chips is always close by. Even at the beach, at risk of getting sand in her bag of chips, Laura was spotted here enjoying her favorite snack:

Seriously, though, you can’t tell that she eats so many bags of chips. Laura is a ballerina, and she’s good at what she does. If Laura loves something, she’s all in 110%. Take fashion, for example. I dare you to spot Laura looking frumpy, even once. Her fashion sense is eclectic, and she makes no makeup and sweats look classy.

Laura is incredibly thoughtful in her friendships. When I talk with her, she frequently expresses a desire to bless her friends. Beyond simply a desire, she is frequently an initiator among her friends, encouraging them and giving well-thought-out advice. I love the way that Laura consistently loves others.

Oh, and she loves good music. She initiated this trip to see Mumford. Awesome, right? And she loves coffee as much as I do. How could we not get along?

I love you, Charlie! I hope you’re having a wonderful birthday.
